Software for trucking companies:what your TMS does and what an AI agent on WhatsApp adds

The TMS plans the loads, the ERP invoices and telematics knows where every truck is. What's left out is the quote a customer asks for on WhatsApp after hours. We don't sell a TMS: Sellium works on top of the systems you already use.

The short answer

What software does a trucking company need?

A trucking company usually runs on four systems: a TMS that plans and executes loads, an ERP that handles invoicing and customer accounts, a telematics platform that tracks the fleet and a CRM for customer relationships. An AI agent replaces none of them: it quotes freight on WhatsApp with your rate sheet, tells customers where their load is and logs every order in your systems.

If you're looking for a TMS, it's better to know up front: we don't sell one. What we do is connect an agent to the systems you already have. The full freight quoting flow is in Sellium for Ground Logistics and in the guide to automated quotes on WhatsApp.

The systems map

What each system handles and where the agent fits

Each system owns its own data: rates and loads in the TMS, negotiated terms and invoices in the ERP, and truck location in telematics. The agent reads what it needs from each one to answer, without anyone switching between screens by hand.

SystemWhat it handlesExamplesWhat the agent does
TMSPlans loads, assigns trucks and tracks executionOracle Transportation Management, SAP Transportation Management, Blue Yonder TMS and regional TMS platformsChecks capacity and creates the shipment order once the customer accepts
ERPInvoicing, customer accounts and costsSAP, Oracle, Microsoft DynamicsLooks up the terms negotiated with each customer and quotes with them
TelematicsLocation, trips and alerts for every truckGeotab, Samsara, Verizon ConnectTells the customer where the load is using the truck's actual position
CRMCustomers, quotes and opportunitiesSalesforce, Microsoft DynamicsLogs every quote and routes anything non-standard to the account executive

Examples taken from each vendor's official website and from Vantegrate's integration pages. Vantegrate doesn't sell any of these systems: the agent works on top of the ones you already have.

An agent at every stage

What each agent handles, and with which system

Each agent works on its own stage. If you also run distribution or last-mile delivery, that is where Trazzo comes in.

1

Quotes the freight

Sellium asks for origin, destination, weight and date, and applies your rate sheet and your surcharges.

Reads from the TMS

2

Recognizes the customer

If they have shipped with you before, it identifies them by their phone number or a previous load and quotes with their negotiated rate.

ERP and CRM

3

Routes anything non-standard

Hazmat loads, dedicated runs or a corporate request go to the account executive with the details already collected.

Writes to the CRM

4

Processes the load paperwork

Arconte reads bills of lading and delivery notes and validates the tax data on each document, including Mexico's CFDI e-invoice and RFC tax ID and Colombia's NIT tax ID.

Writes to the ERP

5

Announces rate changes

Revio tells your customers about rate and surcharge changes, with Meta-approved templates.

Reads the CRM

No fine print

What Vantegrate does and what it doesn't

What it does

  • Quotes freight on WhatsApp with your rate sheet and your surcharges
  • Tells customers where their load is with data from your telematics
  • Creates the shipment order the customer accepts
  • Logs every quote in the CRM and routes anything non-standard

What it doesn't do

  • It is not a long-haul TMS: it doesn't tender freight, build lane rates or settle trips
  • It is not a WMS: it doesn't run the warehouse
  • It doesn't issue tax invoices
  • It doesn't manage fleet maintenance, fuel or driver files
  • It doesn't replace GPS tracking: it reads the one you already have

When it isn't a good fit: if almost all your loads are dedicated runs negotiated one by one, the agent has little to quote. It pays off when you get many repeat requests with rates that are already set.

Published integrations

What it connects to, one integration at a time

Each chip links to its integration page. Oracle's and SAP's TMS platforms connect through each suite's integration; a regional TMS is reviewed during discovery, before we quote.

Key data

Why response speed matters in a quote

Nearly 7x

More likely to qualify a lead if you contact it within the first hour than if you do it an hour later (1.25 million leads at 42 companies, U.S.)

A public U.S. benchmark on leads in general, not a Vantegrate result. We found no verifiable public study on freight quote turnaround times. Every implementation is measured against an agreed baseline.

Frequently asked questions

What trucking companies ask

Does Vantegrate sell a TMS?

No. Vantegrate sells AI agents that work on top of your systems. The TMS keeps planning and executing loads; the agent quotes, answers and logs. If you still plan loads in spreadsheets, it's best to choose the TMS first and add the agent afterward.

Which TMS does the agent connect to?

Any TMS that exposes an API or a database it can query. Oracle's and SAP's TMS platforms connect through each suite's integration, and a regional one is reviewed during discovery, before we quote. What the agent does with telematics is on the Geotab, Samsara and Verizon Connect integration pages.

Can it tell the customer where their load is?

Yes, if your fleet has integrated telematics: the customer asks on WhatsApp and the agent answers with the location and trip status your platform records. For the last mile, with delivery windows and proof of delivery, there is Trazzo.

Does it work for a small carrier?

It depends on how many requests you get, not on the size of your fleet. If you receive many repeat quote requests with set rates, the agent frees up your time; if every load is negotiated separately, it doesn't pay off much. If you quote by hand, the quote template organizes the details of each load, and for distribution there is the last-mile cost calculator.

How much does it cost?

Sellium is priced in two parts: an initial implementation quoted for each company and a monthly subscription with expandable AI credits, with no lock-in. You pay Meta directly for WhatsApp messages, on your own account. To get a price for your case, request a quote.
