Integrate SAP with AI agentswithout moving your data out of your environment

Vantegrate's AI agents integrate natively over API with the entire SAP product suite: they read and write with minimum permissions and full traceability. Current SAP data feeds the conversation, and the result of every operation goes back to your systems.

The short answer

What does it mean to integrate SAP with Vantegrate's AI agents?

Integrating SAP with Vantegrate's AI agents means that an agent reads and updates your SAP environment natively over API, across the entire SAP product suite: it takes the current data to answer a question or process a request, and sends the result of the operation back to your systems. The connection uses scoped access, with the minimum permissions required and end-to-end encryption; your data doesn't leave your environment.

That is different from a tool that lives outside your systems and keeps a copy that drifts out of date. Here the agent works against the same source of truth as your operations, with the traceability your IT and compliance teams need. Vantegrate integrates natively with the SAP product suite; the exact scope of your integration is defined during discovery, based on your version and your modules.

Hi, I want to integrate SAP with AI agents.
What syncs

What data moves between Vantegrate and your SAP

The agent works against your SAP environment through standard interfaces: it reads the current data and sends the result back to your systems after every operation, with no parallel copies.

Your operational data

The agent reads and updates the business information that lives in SAP (commercial, financial or operational), depending on the use case and the permissions you define.

Results back in SAP

Whatever the agent resolves (an answer, a quote, a processed document) goes back to your SAP environment, so it doesn't end up trapped in a separate tool.

Only what you authorize

We define the exact scope before connecting anything: each integration accesses only the data its use case needs. No more, no less.

How it connects

How the integration works, step by step

We work alongside your day-to-day operations, without disruption. Your IT and compliance teams validate every stage.

1

Discovery of your environment

We map your SAP installation: its version, the active modules, the interfaces available and your security requirements.

2

Integration design

We design the architecture on the standard APIs and protocols your environment exposes, using the pattern that best fits your use case.

3

Minimum permissions

We scope access to exactly what the use case requires, with end-to-end encryption in transit and at rest.

4

Validation with real data

We test with real data, validate with your IT and compliance teams, and roll out in phases.

An honest overview

How the agent connects to your SAP

Every SAP installation is different: the version, the active modules, the customizations and the access policies vary from one company to the next. That's why the integration is not a one-size-fits-all recipe: it's designed on the standard interfaces your environment exposes, after we map how it's set up.

The principle holds in every case: the agent reads the current data from SAP to do its work and sends the result back to your systems, with scoped access and an auditable log. That way your team can trust that the information it sees is the real thing, and not an outdated copy.

Your data doesn't leave your environment: information travels end-to-end encrypted, and every operation is logged and auditable for your IT and compliance teams. The specific scope of the integration is confirmed once we map your installation.

Your source of truth

The agent works against SAP's current data, not against a copy that drifts out of date

The MIT NANDA figure reflects the gap between experimenting with AI agents and running them in production: the difference usually lies in the integration with critical systems like SAP, which is exactly what this page covers.

Your data, your environment

The integration doesn't compromise your SAP investment

Your SAP runs critical processes, and the integration doesn't put them at risk. The agents connect through standard APIs and protocols, with scoped access and an auditable log of every operation.

  • Connection through standard APIs and protocols, with no workarounds and no fragile bridges.
  • End-to-end encryption, in transit and at rest.
  • Minimum necessary permissions: the scope is defined before connecting.
  • Full traceability: you know who accessed what, when and why.
Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about the SAP integration

What IT teams usually ask before connecting an AI agent to their SAP environment.

How do I integrate SAP with an AI agent?

Through an integration over the standard APIs and protocols of your SAP environment. The agent reads and updates your operational information, with minimum permissions and end-to-end encryption. Vantegrate maps your installation (version, modules, available interfaces), designs the architecture and gets it up and running; your IT team validates every stage. The exact scope adapts to how your SAP is set up.

Does my data leave my SAP environment?

It doesn't leave your environment: the agent reads the current data to do its work and sends the result back to your systems, with end-to-end encryption and full traceability of every operation. No parallel copy is kept that could drift out of date; your SAP remains the source of truth.

Do I need to change my SAP installation to integrate an agent?

No. The integration is designed on the standard interfaces your environment already exposes, after we map how it's set up. We work alongside your operations, without disruption, and roll out in phases once your team has validated it with real data.

Which SAP modules does the integration support?

The scope is defined case by case, based on your SAP version, the modules you have active and the interfaces available. In the initial discovery we map what data the agent needs and where it connects, and we design the integration around your installation. Tell us how your environment is set up and we'll work it out together.

Does the integration include SAP Concur?

It can. SAP Concur is SAP's solution for travel, expenses and vendor invoices, and it offers APIs to integrate expense reporting and accounts payable, according to its developer center. The typical use case is Arconte, the document agent: it reads the receipt or the invoice that arrives on WhatsApp or by email and leaves the data ready to enter the expense or the invoice in Concur. As with the rest of the suite, the scope is defined during discovery.

Is Vantegrate an SAP partner?

We're not, and we'd rather say so up front. The integration is native over API with the SAP product suite: the agent reads and writes through the interfaces SAP already exposes, with no proprietary connectors and no certifications we don't hold. Which modules are in scope is defined during discovery, not before.

Do I have to install anything in SAP?

You don't need to install software on your computers or deploy anything inside SAP. The connection is authorized once from your account, with minimum permissions and traceability for every operation. Vantegrate handles the setup; your team authorizes, validates and starts using it.

What happens to my data if I stop working with Vantegrate?

Access is revoked, and that's it. Because the agent never took your database, your information stays complete in your SAP account, along with the conversations and records created during that period. We don't keep any of your data on our side that you'd have to ask for back.

Tell us how your SAP environment is set up and we'll work out together what data we need, which permissions we request and where the agent connects. A no-commitment conversation.
