Integrate VTEX with AI agentsthat sell on WhatsApp
Vantegrate's AI agents connect to your account through VTEX's official APIs: they check your catalog, stock and orders to sell and support customers on WhatsApp, and follow up on every order with real data. Your data stays in your VTEX account.
How the data flows
What does it mean to integrate VTEX with Vantegrate's AI agents?
Integrating VTEX with Vantegrate's AI agents means that an agent, such as the sales agent on WhatsApp, connects to your account through VTEX's official APIs and works with real data: it checks the catalog and stock by SKU to quote, reads an order's status to follow up, and registers the customer. Authentication uses an AppKey and AppToken pair on the server side, with the permissions you authorize.
That is different from copying your catalog into a spreadsheet or answering by hand. The agent checks the live data in your VTEX at that moment, so it doesn't quote an out-of-stock product or promise an old price, and it learns about an order status change as soon as it happens. Your store and customer data stays in your account: the agent queries it without taking it anywhere.

What data moves between Vantegrate and your VTEX
The agent works on VTEX's standard APIs in real time: it reads your catalog and orders to answer, and follows every order status change where it belongs.
Catalog, prices and stock
The agent queries the Catalog, Pricing and Logistics APIs to answer questions, show the current price and check stock by SKU before quoting.
Orders and customers
The agent reads the Orders API to follow up on WhatsApp, and Master Data for the customer's profile and address, with their purchase context.
Real-time order events
With the Orders Feed or a VTEX Hook, a status change (confirmed, shipped, delivered) triggers the agent's notice with no one entering it by hand.
How the integration works, step by step
Vantegrate handles the setup and rollout. Your team authorizes, validates and starts using it.
Connection through the official APIs
You generate an AppKey and AppToken pair in your VTEX admin and we connect through its REST APIs on the server side. The keys never go in the frontend.
Permissions in the License Manager
The app key inherits the roles and resources you assign it in the License Manager: the agent accesses only the modules the use case needs.
Orders Feed or Hook
We set up the Orders Feed or a Hook to an endpoint so that every order status change triggers the agent's follow-up right away.
Validation with real data
We test with your real catalog and orders, validate with your team and roll out in phases.
Integration through the official APIs vs. exporting spreadsheets
Not every way of connecting a store works the same. Exporting spreadsheets or copying your catalog into another tool creates data that goes stale: the agent ends up quoting an old price or an out-of-stock product. An integration through VTEX's official APIs checks the live data at that moment, with no parallel copies that drift.
The difference shows up in every conversation: the agent verifies current stock and price before it answers, and learns about an order status change as soon as the Orders Feed records it, not on the next manual export. That accuracy is what makes the customer trust what the agent tells them.
| Dimension | Spreadsheet or manual copy | VTEX official APIs |
|---|---|---|
| Connection | Manual export or scraping | AppKey and AppToken against the REST APIs |
| Data | A copy that goes stale | Live catalog, prices and stock |
| Events | Entered by hand | Orders Feed or Hook in real time |
| Permissions | Full access to the export | License Manager roles you authorize |
| Customers | Scattered outside the system | Master Data with their profile and address |
Comparison of integration patterns; the exact scope is defined with your team based on your account and your permissions.
Your data stays in your account: the agent queries your VTEX through the APIs without moving your database anywhere else. Server-side authentication uses an AppKey and AppToken pair with the permissions you assign in the License Manager, and every incoming event is logged.

An agent connected to your VTEX vs. a standalone tool
| Standalone AI tool | Agent connected to your VTEX | |
|---|---|---|
| Data source | A copy that drifts | Your source of truth, live |
| Where your data lives | In a third-party system | In your environment, encrypted end to end |
| Result of each operation | Stuck in another app | Written back to your VTEX |
| Permissions and audit | Broad and hard to audit | Least-privilege scope and an audit trail |
| Reaching production | Often stalls as a pilot | Validated, phased rollout |
Why add an agent that sells on top of your store
Third-party figures, each with its published source, to size the context. None of them is a Vantegrate result.
~70%
Of e-commerce shopping carts are abandoned before purchase, on average
95%
Of generative AI pilots never reach production with measurable business impact
The cart abandonment rate is an average of multiple studies compiled by Baymard. VTEX published a case of its own, Osklen's, where a conversational WhatsApp flow raised abandoned-cart conversion from 3% to 18%; it is VTEX's figure, not a Vantegrate result.
Which agents run on your VTEX
Every product in the suite uses the same integration through the official APIs: it works with your account's data in real time and logs the result where it belongs.
Sellium
Sales agent on WhatsApp: serves customers, answers questions and quotes with your real catalog and stock, and follows up on every order when its status changes.
Explore SelliumRevio
Marketing and win-back agent: re-engages shoppers who left a cart or didn't come back over WhatsApp, using the segments that already live in your store. A strong fit for customers in markets where WhatsApp is the default channel.
Explore RevioThe integration doesn't take your data anywhere
The principle is simple: AI comes to your data, not your data to the AI. The agent queries your VTEX through the official APIs, with the permissions you authorize, and the agents run on certified cloud infrastructure.
- Server-side authentication with an AppKey and AppToken pair, without exposing the keys in the frontend, as VTEX recommends.
- The agent queries your catalog and orders; your customer base stays in your VTEX account.
- The agents run on Salesforce or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, whose SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certifications belong to those platforms, not to Vantegrate or your store.
- Access with least-privilege permissions defined in the License Manager and traceability of every operation.
Frequently asked questions about the VTEX integration
What e-commerce and IT teams usually ask before connecting an AI agent to their store.
How is the VTEX integration authenticated?
How is the VTEX integration authenticated?
With an AppKey and AppToken pair on the server side, sent in the X-VTEX-API-AppKey and X-VTEX-API-AppToken headers. The app key is created in your admin and inherits the permissions you assign it in the License Manager. VTEX recommends not using those keys in client-side code, so the integration always runs on Vantegrate's server, never in the browser.
Does VTEX have a REST or GraphQL API for integrations?
Does VTEX have a REST or GraphQL API for integrations?
For back-office integrations (catalog, orders, prices and stock), the path is the REST API, with OpenAPI 3.0 schemas published by VTEX. GraphQL exists, but it's geared toward the storefront and VTEX IO, the front-end development layer. Vantegrate's agents integrate through VTEX's REST APIs.
How does the agent learn about an order status change in real time?
How does the agent learn about an order status change in real time?
With the Orders Feed, which VTEX describes as the most reliable method for tracking status changes, or with a Hook that VTEX pushes to an endpoint Vantegrate provides. When an order moves to shipped or delivered, the agent detects it and notifies the customer on WhatsApp, with no one entering it by hand.
Does my customer data leave VTEX?
Does my customer data leave VTEX?
The agent queries your account through the APIs; it doesn't copy your database anywhere else. Your customer information lives in VTEX Master Data, and access uses least-privilege permissions from the License Manager and is logged. The principle is that AI comes to your data, not your data to the AI.
