Integrate PrestaShop with AI agentsthat sell and recover carts on WhatsApp

Vantegrate's AI agents connect to your PrestaShop store through its official Webservice: they check catalog, prices, stock and order status, sell on WhatsApp, recover abandoned carts and answer with real store data, with no one entering it by hand. Your catalog and orders stay in your installation.

The short answer

What does it mean to integrate PrestaShop with Vantegrate's AI agents?

Integrating PrestaShop with Vantegrate's AI agents means that an agent sells, recovers carts and answers questions about orders with the store's real data, instead of running things by hand or with a fixed decision-tree bot that can't see the catalog. The connection uses PrestaShop's official Webservice, authenticated with a scoped API key, and the agent checks stock, prices and order status.

That is different from a fixed decision-tree bot that doesn't know whether an item is in stock or where an order stands. The agent understands the context of the purchase, acts on real store data and answers right away. Your catalog, orders and customers stay in your PrestaShop installation: the agent queries and updates them without taking them anywhere.

online

Hi, I want to integrate PrestaShop with AI agents.
What syncs

What data moves between Vantegrate and PrestaShop

The agent works on the PrestaShop Webservice in real time: it reads catalog, prices, stock and order status, and acts on the WhatsApp conversation where it belongs.

Catalog, prices and stock

The agent checks your store's products, prices and stock to sell with real data, not an outdated list, and avoids offering what isn't available.

Order status

The agent reads the status of every order and answers on WhatsApp when the customer asks; with that same data it spots abandoned carts and reactivates customers.

Customer data

The agent accesses the store's customer data with scoped permissions to personalize the conversation, without taking the database out of your installation.

How it connects

How the integration works, step by step

Vantegrate handles the setup and rollout. Your team authorizes, validates and starts using it.

1

Review of your store

We review your PrestaShop store: the catalog and the order and delivery flows. We define which use cases go first (sales, recovery, metrics).

2

Connection through the Webservice

We connect through the PrestaShop Webservice with an API key scoped by resource and by method. Since the platform is open source and self-hosted, the exact technical path is validated case by case before we start.

3

Business context and rules

We load the business context and the sales and recovery rules, so the agent speaks like your team and follows your pricing and stock policies.

4

Validation with real data

We test with real data in a controlled environment, validate with your team and roll out in phases by use case, without switching off what already works.

Through the API, not by hand

Webservice integration vs. running the store by hand

Not every way of handling customers in an online store works the same. Running PrestaShop by hand and copying data between the back office and the chat leaves gaps: an out-of-stock product gets offered, an abandoned cart isn't recovered in time and a question about an order's status goes unanswered until someone sees it. An integration through the official Webservice reads the data live and acts right away, without that delay.

The difference shows up in every conversation: the agent checks real price and stock before offering, triggers cart recovery as soon as a cart is left open and answers questions about the order status with the store's data, not with a blind promise. That speed keeps you from selling what isn't in stock or losing sales that were one message away from closing.

PermissionsBroad access to the back officeKey by resource and by method (least privilege)

Comparison of integration patterns; the exact scope is defined with your team based on your store, and the technical path is validated case by case.

Your data stays in your store: the agent works against PrestaShop through the Webservice with a least-privilege key and logs the result where it belongs, without taking your catalog or orders anywhere else. The principle is that AI comes to your data, not your data to the AI.

PrestaShop is open source and every installation can differ; the exact way to connect your store is validated case by case before promising anything. According to its documentation, the recommended and safest way to use the key is an authorization header.

Your data, your store

The integration doesn't take your data anywhere

The principle is simple: AI comes to your data, not your data to the AI. The agent works against your PrestaShop store through its Webservice, with the permissions you authorize, and the agents run on certified cloud infrastructure.

  • Connection through the official PrestaShop Webservice, authenticated with an API key, with no scrapers and no manual uploads.
  • Each key is scoped by resource (products, orders, customers) and by method, so the agent does exactly what you define and nothing more.
  • Your catalog and orders stay in your installation of PrestaShop: the agent queries and updates them, without taking the database anywhere else.
  • The agents run on Salesforce or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, whose SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certifications belong to those platforms, not to Vantegrate or your store, with traceability of every operation.
Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about the PrestaShop integration

What sales and e-commerce teams usually ask before connecting an AI agent to their PrestaShop store.

How do I integrate PrestaShop with AI agents?

Through a connection to the PrestaShop Webservice, the CRUD API the platform exposes over HTTP, authenticated with an API key scoped by resource and by method. The agent checks catalog, prices, stock and order status, sells and recovers carts on WhatsApp, and logs the result where it belongs. Vantegrate handles the setup and rollout; your team authorizes the permissions, validates and starts using it. Since PrestaShop is open source and self-hosted, the exact way to connect your store is validated case by case. Learn about the sales agent in Sellium.

Does the agent change anything in my store?

Only what you authorize. The Webservice API key is scoped by resource (products, orders, customers) and by method, so the agent does exactly what you define and nothing more. If you want it to only read the catalog and order status to sell and answer, it's set up with read permissions on those resources, with no ability to change anything. Setting up least-privilege permissions is part of the rollout.

Can the agent recover abandoned carts?

Yes. With your PrestaShop store's order and cart data, the agent detects an abandoned cart and sends a recovery message on WhatsApp with the real context of the purchase: which product was left behind and at what price. That's the job of Revio, the outbound marketing agent. One caveat for US shoppers: Meta classifies a cart reminder as a marketing message (Meta) and doesn't deliver WhatsApp marketing templates to US numbers (Meta), so this reminder reaches customers with non-US numbers.

Does my data leave my PrestaShop store?

No. The agent queries and updates your store through the Webservice and logs the result where it belongs; it doesn't copy your catalog or your orders anywhere else. The information stays in your PrestaShop installation, and access uses least-privilege permissions with a scoped key and is logged for traceability. Since version 8.1, PrestaShop can return data in JSON, which simplifies the connection. The principle is that AI comes to your data, not your data to the AI.
