Integrate Shopify with your CRM and AI agentsthat sell from your live catalog
Vantegrate's AI agents connect to your store through the Shopify Admin API: they check your catalog, inventory and orders to sell and support customers on WhatsApp, and log every customer and conversation in your CRM. Your data stays in your systems.
How the data flows
What does it mean to integrate Shopify with a CRM and Vantegrate's AI agents?
Integrating Shopify with Vantegrate's AI agents means that an agent, such as the sales agent on WhatsApp, connects to your store through the Shopify Admin API and works with real data: it looks up products and inventory to quote, builds the order inside the conversation and reads the shipping status to follow up. The connection uses OAuth 2.0, with the permissions you authorize.
That is different from copying your catalog into a spreadsheet or answering by hand. The agent checks the live data in your Shopify at that moment, so it doesn't quote an out-of-stock product or promise an old price. Your store and customer data stays in your systems: the agent queries it without taking it anywhere, and payment data is processed by Shopify, not by the integration.

What data moves between Vantegrate and your Shopify
The agent works on the standard objects of the Shopify Admin API in near real time: it reads your catalog and orders to answer, builds the sale in the chat and logs the customer where it belongs.
Catalog, variants and inventory
The agent looks up your products, variants and prices to answer questions and quote, and avoids offering anything that is out of stock in your inventory.
Orders and customers
The agent builds the order in the conversation as a draft order, completes it when the customer confirms payment and logs the new customer in your CRM.
Real-time events
With Shopify webhooks, an event such as a paid order or a started checkout triggers the agent's follow-up, with no one entering it by hand.
How the integration works, step by step
Vantegrate handles the setup and rollout. Your team authorizes, validates and starts using it.
Connection through the Admin API
We connect to the Shopify Admin API over OAuth 2.0, on GraphQL, with the permissions your account authorizes. No scrapers and no spreadsheets in between.
Mapping your catalog
We define which products, variants and order data the agent uses to answer, quote and build the sale in the chat.
Webhooks and CRM
We set up the webhooks that trigger the agent's workflows, such as a started checkout or a paid order, and the destination where every customer is logged.
Validation with real data
We test with your real catalog and orders, validate with your team and roll out in phases.
Admin API integration vs. exporting spreadsheets
Not every way of connecting a store works the same. Exporting spreadsheets or copying your catalog into another tool creates data that goes stale: the agent ends up quoting an old price or a product that is out of stock. An integration through the Shopify Admin API checks the live data at that moment, with no parallel copies that drift.
The difference shows up in every conversation: the agent verifies current stock and price before it answers, builds the order as a draft order and completes it when the customer confirms. That flow, Shopify's native path for selling in a chat, records the order right away, not on the next manual export.
A WhatsApp channel on its own no longer sets you apart. Meta's enterprise Agent Platform names Shopify among the systems its business agents connect to (WhatsApp Business). The difference is depth: an agent that quotes from your B2B price lists, logs every conversation in your CRM and works under least-privilege access with an audit trail. If you're weighing both options, see Meta Business Agent or a custom AI agent.
| Dimension | Spreadsheet or manual copy | Shopify Admin API |
|---|---|---|
| Connection | Manual export or scraping | OAuth 2.0 on the Admin API (GraphQL) |
| Data | A copy that goes stale | Live catalog, inventory and orders |
| Selling in chat | Order keyed in by hand | Draft order completed at payment |
| Events | Entered by hand | Webhooks in near real time |
| Permissions | Full access to the export | Only the ones you authorize |
Comparison of integration patterns; the exact scope is defined with your team based on your store and your permissions.
Your data stays in your systems: the agent queries your store through the API without moving your database anywhere else, and payment data is processed by Shopify (the API doesn't expose sensitive card data). The connection uses the permissions you authorize, and every incoming event is logged and auditable.
Shopify B2B and Shopify POS, on the same integration
Shopify B2B is the set of native features for selling to other businesses from the same admin: each wholesale customer is a company with its own locations, catalogs with negotiated prices and payment terms, according to the Shopify Help Center. The Admin API exposes those companies and their catalogs, and it lets you create draft orders for a buyer at the company (Shopify developer docs), so the agent quotes in the conversation at the negotiated price and leaves the order ready for approval.
Shopify POS is the point of sale for selling in person, and it syncs with the same admin: orders and inventory from your retail locations sit next to those of your online store, according to Shopify. That's why the agent can tell a customer which store has an item in stock, or give the status of a purchase made at the counter, without a separate integration.
B2B depends on your plan: the B2B features come with the Shopify plans that include them. If your store uses them, the agent works with them under the same permissions you authorize for the rest of the integration.

An agent connected to your Shopify vs. a standalone tool
| Standalone AI tool | Agent connected to your Shopify | |
|---|---|---|
| Data source | A copy that drifts | Your source of truth, live |
| Where your data lives | In a third-party system | In your environment, encrypted end to end |
| Result of each operation | Stuck in another app | Written back to your Shopify |
| Permissions and audit | Broad and hard to audit | Least-privilege scope and an audit trail |
| Reaching production | Often stalls as a pilot | Validated, phased rollout |
Why add an agent that sells on top of your store
Third-party figures, each with its published source, to size the opportunity. None of them is a Vantegrate result.
10%
Of US e-commerce sales are processed through Shopify, by the company's own count
~70%
Of e-commerce shopping carts are abandoned before purchase, on average
95%
Of generative AI pilots never reach production with measurable business impact
Shopify's figure is the company's own claim, not an independent market measurement; for scale, Store Leads tracks more than 3.1 million live Shopify stores, 38.2% of them in the US (Store Leads). The cart abandonment rate is an average of multiple studies compiled by Baymard. The MIT NANDA figure reflects the gap between experimenting with AI agents and running them in production.
Which agents run on your Shopify
Every product in the suite uses the same Admin API integration: it works with your store's data in real time and logs the result where it belongs.

Explore RevioThe integration doesn't take your data anywhere
The principle is simple: AI comes to your data, not your data to the AI. The agent queries your Shopify through the Admin API, with the permissions you authorize, and the agents run on certified cloud infrastructure.
- Connection through the Shopify Admin API with OAuth 2.0, with no scrapers and no spreadsheets in between.
- The agent queries your catalog and orders; your customer base stays in your systems and payment data is processed by Shopify.
- Your implementation runs on Salesforce or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, whose SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certifications belong to those platforms, not to Vantegrate or Shopify.
- Access with least-privilege permissions and traceability of every operation.
Frequently asked questions about the Shopify integration
What e-commerce teams usually ask before connecting an AI agent to their store.
How do I integrate Shopify with a CRM and an AI agent?
How do I integrate Shopify with a CRM and an AI agent?
Through a connection to the Shopify Admin API using OAuth 2.0. The agent checks your catalog, inventory and orders to sell and support customers on WhatsApp, and logs the customer and the conversation in your CRM. Vantegrate handles the setup and rollout; your team authorizes the permissions, validates and starts using it. Learn about the sales agent in Sellium.
Does it connect through REST or GraphQL?
Does it connect through REST or GraphQL?
The integration uses the GraphQL Admin API, the path Shopify recommends: Shopify classifies the REST Admin API as legacy and requires new public apps to be built on GraphQL (Shopify). Either way, authentication goes through OAuth 2.0 and the access token travels in the X-Shopify-Access-Token header of every request; we work on the current version of the API.
Can the agent build an order from the conversation?
Can the agent build an order from the conversation?
Yes. Shopify's native mechanism for selling in a chat is the draft order: the agent builds the order with the products the customer picks on WhatsApp and completes it when the customer confirms payment, which creates the real order. For a B2B buyer, the draft order goes to the company contact for approval. All with the permissions your account authorizes. More in WhatsApp order taking.
Does my customer data leave Shopify?
Does my customer data leave Shopify?
The agent queries your store through the API; it doesn't copy your database anywhere else. Your customer information stays in your systems, access uses least-privilege permissions and is logged, and payment data is processed by Shopify (the API doesn't expose sensitive card data). The principle is that AI comes to your data, not your data to the AI.
Can the agent message US shoppers on WhatsApp?
Can the agent message US shoppers on WhatsApp?
Yes, for orders and service. WhatsApp is used by 32% of US adults and 56% of Hispanic adults (Pew Research Center). Meta does not deliver WhatsApp marketing templates to US (+1) numbers (Meta), while utility messages such as order confirmations and shipping updates are still allowed, and so are free-form follow-ups inside the 24-hour window that opens when the customer writes (Manychat). In practice, the agent confirms orders, shares tracking and follows up within that window on a cart built in the chat, while promotional cart-recovery campaigns to +1 numbers stay off WhatsApp. The pause doesn't apply to customers with non-US numbers.
