What the WhatsApp API Cost Calculator calculates
Meta charges for the WhatsApp Business API per delivered message, and the final number depends on something few companies look at before budgeting: the mix of categories.
How the calculator works
You pick your customers' country, which sets the rates, and enter how many messages you send per month in each category: marketing, utility and authentication templates, plus service messages, which are the replies inside the 24-hour window. The calculator deducts the 1,000 free service messages of each number and charges the rest at the utility rate, as Meta does.
The rates come preloaded for Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Chile and the United States, and they are editable: if your provider gave you a different table or Meta updated it, you change it and the result recalculates. The formula is in plain sight on this same page.
What to do with the result
