VantegrateNative API integrationIntegrate Dialpad with AI agentsand follow up on every call by text or WhatsApp
Vantegrate's AI agents work on your Salesforce org and connect to your Dialpad account through its official public API, with a key your admin creates and signed webhook events: when a call is missed or ends, the agent picks the conversation up by SMS or WhatsApp with the customer's Salesforce context (plus the call summary, if your account has AI Recaps) and logs the outcome. Calls stay in Dialpad; records stay in Salesforce.
How the data flows
What does it mean to integrate Dialpad with Vantegrate's AI agents?
Integrating Dialpad with Vantegrate's AI agents means every call gets a follow-up by text. Through Dialpad's official API, the agent learns about each missed or finished call, reads the summary AI Recaps writes when your account has it, and texts the customer by SMS or WhatsApp with their Salesforce context: it answers, quotes from your price lists and logs the outcome.
That is different from Dialpad for Salesforce, the app Dialpad offers to log calls and texts in the CRM, and from the WhatsApp channel in its contact center: the agent works the sale that comes after the call, from your WhatsApp Business number or a Dialpad number assigned to a user or group, and runs alongside both. Calls stay in Dialpad; records stay in your Salesforce.

What moves between Dialpad, the agent and your Salesforce
Dialpad reports each event through a webhook signed with a shared secret, and the agent queries the API only when it needs a data point.
Missed calls, as they happen
The subscription is limited to the states that matter: a missed call, a voicemail and the end of the call. The agent looks the number up in Salesforce and follows up by SMS or WhatsApp.
The summary of every call
With AI Recaps turned on, the event carries the summary, the outcome and the action items Dialpad's AI detected, and the agent uses them so the customer never has to repeat themselves.
Two-way SMS
Every text that reaches a Dialpad number triggers an event; to read its content, the key needs the scope that enables it. The agent replies from a number assigned to a user or a group in your account.
How the integration works, step by step
Vantegrate sets up the connection and turns it on in phases; an admin at your company creates the key and your team validates.
An API key that expires
A Company Admin creates the integration's key in Dialpad, with an expiration date and only the additional scopes your case needs. Dialpad warns that an API key is more powerful than a password, so it is stored as a secret.
A signed webhook and only the events you need
We register a webhook with a secret: Dialpad signs every event (JWT with HS256) and the agent verifies the signature before acting. Each subscription is scoped by call state and by contact center, department, office or person.
Business rules
We decide which calls get a text and which a WhatsApp message, during which hours, which Salesforce data the agent uses and when it requests a callback or hands off to a rep.
Validation with real calls
We test with a test line or queue, within the API limits (20 requests per second per company, according to Dialpad), validate with your team and roll out in phases.
From a missed call to a text, with the customer's Salesforce context
An unanswered call usually ends in a voicemail someone listens to hours later, after the customer has already called another supplier. With the integration, Dialpad reports the moment a call is missed, and the agent texts the customer knowing who they are and what is open in Salesforce.
Answered calls get a follow-up too. If your account uses AI Recaps, Dialpad sends the call's summary and action items, and the agent turns them into the proposal by text; if not, it works from the call details and what Salesforce already knows about the customer.
And the other way around: when the chat needs a human voice, the agent asks Dialpad for a callback, which joins your contact center queue like a regular call and dials out when the next operator is free, within business hours; Dialpad doesn't place international callbacks (Dialpad Developers). If the case belongs to a rep, the agent hands it off with the summary, as described in AI agent to human handoff.
| Dimension | Phone and text apart | Dialpad with the agent |
|---|---|---|
| Missed call | A voicemail to check later | Real-time alert and a text with context |
| Answered call | Loose notes nobody follows up on | The AI Recaps summary comes back as a follow-up |
| Switching to a voice | Asking the customer to call back | A callback in your Dialpad queue |
| Record | Call in one system, chat in another | Every conversation on the customer record in Salesforce |
The exact events and rules are defined with your team.
Each channel keeps its rules: outside the 24-hour window, WhatsApp only lets you write with a Meta-approved template and the customer's opt-in; texting through Dialpad's API requires a registered 10DLC campaign (Dialpad Developers). The details are on the SMS integration page.
Dialpad already adds WhatsApp to its contact center: what the agent adds
Dialpad Support, Dialpad's contact center, offers WhatsApp as a digital channel alongside web chat, SMS, Facebook and Instagram. According to its help center, it automates answers to common questions and routes to the right agent, and it is available to users with a Digital Engagement license (Dialpad). Dialpad's Professional Services team can also set up sending one Meta-approved template to several contacts at once (Dialpad).
Vantegrate's agent covers a different stretch: the sale, using your Salesforce data, with your prices, inventory, quote, payment link and order, from your WhatsApp Business number through Meta's official API. If your contact center already handles WhatsApp in Dialpad, during discovery we decide which number and which conversations each one handles, so no customer gets two replies.
What already works in Dialpad stays as it is: the WhatsApp channel in Dialpad Support is configured in your Dialpad account; the agent connects to your own WhatsApp Business account through Meta's official API and doesn't touch that setup.
How the agent works alongside Dialpad's AI and its Salesforce app
Dialpad has its own Salesforce app, Dialpad for Salesforce: calling from the CRM and automatic logging of calls, voicemails, recordings and texts, for Dialpad Pro and Enterprise plans with Salesforce Enterprise, Unlimited or an edition that supports API access (Dialpad). The agent doesn't replace it: during discovery we decide what each one logs, so no activity is duplicated.
Dialpad also has its own AI: AI Recaps summarizes calls and meetings, and Dialpad AI Agents are voice and digital agents that resolve routine calls, chats and texts and escalate to a person, built without code in Agent Studio (Dialpad). Vantegrate's agent works the sale that continues by text, with your prices, inventory, payment and the order in Salesforce.
Dialpad also offers an MCP server, in early access, so each person can connect their own AI assistant to their own account: it acts on behalf of whoever signs in, and sessions last 24 hours. For a traditional integration, Dialpad points to its public API (Dialpad Developers), which is what the agent uses.
| Dialpad piece | What it does | What the agent adds |
|---|---|---|
| Dialpad for Salesforce | Calling from the CRM and automatic logging | The follow-up by text and its outcome |
| AI Recaps | Summarizes the call and detects action items | Uses that summary as context for the message |
| Dialpad AI Agents | Resolve routine requests and escalate | The sale by text, with prices and payment |
| WhatsApp in Dialpad Support | WhatsApp inside the contact center | We agree which number each one handles |
Based on Dialpad's pages; each feature depends on your plan and licenses.
Dialpad is a third-party product: Vantegrate integrates through its public API, and everything already working in your account stays as it is.
Texting US customers from Dialpad: 10DLC registration and opt-outs
Before a Dialpad number can text ten-digit US numbers, your company registers its brand and SMS campaigns with The Campaign Registry through Dialpad's self-serve form, which your Company Admin completes and third parties, not Dialpad, review. Outbound texts from numbers without an approved campaign are blocked, while incoming texts are not affected (Dialpad Help Center), and Dialpad requires the registration to use its SMS API (Dialpad Developers), so it goes at the start of the project.
Once texts flow, the agent checks your company's opt-out list, which Dialpad exposes through its API and recommends checking before each send (Dialpad Developers), and paces its sends to Dialpad's API limit for texts (100 a minute). The general SMS rules, including TCPA consent, are on the SMS integration page.
The registration is in your company's name: the brand and campaigns belong to your Dialpad account, and we map each use case (missed-call follow-up, quotes, reminders) to its campaign before the first text goes out.

An agent connected to your Dialpad vs. a standalone tool
| Standalone AI tool | Agent connected to your Dialpad | |
|---|---|---|
| Data source | A copy that drifts | Dialpad events and your Salesforce, live |
| Where your data lives | In a third-party system | Calls and texts in Dialpad, records in your Salesforce |
| Result of each conversation | Stuck in another app | Logged on the customer record in your Salesforce |
| Permissions and audit | Broad and hard to audit | An expiring key and a log of every action |
| Reaching production | Often stalls as a pilot | Validated, phased rollout |
Why add an AI agent to your Dialpad
Third-party figures, each with its published source. None of them is a Vantegrate result.
Nearly 7x
More likely to qualify a lead when it is contacted within the first hour than an hour later
30%
Of service cases are already handled by AI, according to service teams' own estimates
Dialpad reports its own customer count. The Harvard Business Review figure measures web leads and works as a benchmark for response speed; Salesforce's comes from a survey of 6,500 service professionals in 40 countries. Pew counts adults who use WhatsApp at all, so read it as reach, not business use.
Which agents run on your Dialpad
Two products in the suite use this integration, each with only the scopes its task needs.
Sellium
Sales agent: picks up every missed or finished Dialpad call by SMS or WhatsApp with the customer's Salesforce context; it qualifies, quotes from your price lists, collects payment through a link and, if the customer would rather talk, requests a callback or hands off to the rep.
Explore SelliumMetrix
Data agent: answers from Slack, Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp or the web how many calls were missed or abandoned by contact center, department, office or person, using Dialpad's Stats API, which also refreshes same-day data.
Explore MetrixYour calls stay in Dialpad; the agent reads only what it needs
AI comes to your data, not your data to the AI: the agent reads only the data each case needs from Dialpad and logs the outcome in Salesforce. Dialpad publishes its own certifications: a SOC 2 Type II report and ISO 27001, 27017 and 27018 (Dialpad's trust center).
- Connection through Dialpad's official public API with a key a Company Admin creates, with an expiration date and only the additional scopes the case needs.
- Verifiable events: with the webhook secret, Dialpad signs every delivery as a JWT, and the agent discards anything that isn't signed.
- Private by default: text message content and recording links aren't included in events unless the key has the scope that enables them.
- Calls, recordings and texts stay in Dialpad, which stores its customers' permanent data in the United States on Google Cloud Platform. Every action the agent takes is logged in Salesforce.
- The agents run on Salesforce or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, whose SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certifications belong to those platforms, not to Vantegrate or Dialpad.
Frequently asked questions about the Dialpad integration
What sales, service and IT teams ask before connecting an AI agent to Dialpad.
How do I integrate Dialpad with an AI agent?
How do I integrate Dialpad with an AI agent?
Through Dialpad's official public API: a Company Admin creates an API key with an expiration date and the scopes your case needs, and Vantegrate registers a signed webhook that listens to the events that matter (missed calls, finished calls, inbound texts). With each event, the agent picks the conversation up by SMS or WhatsApp with the customer's Salesforce context. Your team authorizes and validates. Meet the sales agent at Sellium.
Does Dialpad integrate with WhatsApp?
Does Dialpad integrate with WhatsApp?
Yes: Dialpad Support, its contact center, offers WhatsApp as a digital channel for users with a Digital Engagement license, with automated answers and routing to a live agent. Vantegrate's agent does something else: it sells using your Salesforce data on WhatsApp, from your WhatsApp Business number, and follows up on Dialpad calls there. Both can run side by side with a clear rule on which number each one handles. More in the WhatsApp integration.
Can I use a Dialpad number for WhatsApp?
Can I use a Dialpad number for WhatsApp?
It depends on the number. Among other conditions, Meta requires a business number you own, with a country and area code, that can receive calls or texts so it can be verified with a code (Meta). During discovery we review the number you want to use: whether it is already on WhatsApp, in the app or in your Dialpad contact center's WhatsApp channel, and which conversations each one handles.
Does the agent replace Dialpad for Salesforce or Dialpad's AI?
Does the agent replace Dialpad for Salesforce or Dialpad's AI?
No. Dialpad for Salesforce keeps logging calls and texts in the CRM, AI Recaps summarizes calls and Dialpad AI Agents handle routine requests. The agent works the conversation that continues by text: it answers, qualifies, quotes with your Salesforce data and logs the outcome. During discovery we define what each piece writes to Salesforce, so no activity is logged twice.
Can the agent follow up with US customers on WhatsApp?
Can the agent follow up with US customers on WhatsApp?
Yes, when the customer is on WhatsApp, which 32% of US adults use (Pew Research Center, 2025). Meta doesn't deliver WhatsApp marketing templates to US phone numbers (Meta). So for US numbers the missed-call follow-up goes by SMS from your registered Dialpad number by default, and WhatsApp takes over when the customer writes to you there or has a number outside the US.
