Integrate Sage Intacct with AI agentsthat code every bill to the right dimensions
Vantegrate's AI agents connect to Sage Intacct through its REST API with OAuth 2.0, using your company's Web Services license: they enter vendor bills with their department, location or project, tell each customer what they owe over SMS, web chat or WhatsApp, and place their orders in Order Entry. Your books stay in your Sage Intacct.
How the data flows
What does it mean to integrate Sage Intacct with Vantegrate's AI agents?
Integrating Sage Intacct with Vantegrate's AI agents means an agent works on your live Sage Intacct company through the official REST API: it enters the bill a vendor sends you with its dimensions, tells a customer which invoices are open and when they're due, and enters the order they just confirmed in a chat. It connects over OAuth 2.0 through a Web Services user with narrow permissions.
That is different from exporting spreadsheets or re-keying what came in by email. The agent reads current data from your company, or from the right entity if you run several, and writes the transaction where it belongs. Your books stay in your Sage Intacct: the agent doesn't copy your database anywhere else.

What data moves between Vantegrate and your Sage Intacct
The agent works on the standard objects of Sage Intacct's REST API: it reads what it needs, writes the transaction that belongs there and hears about changes through outbound webhooks, with no manual uploads.
Vendor bills with their dimensions
Arconte creates the bill against the right vendor, fills in the department, location or project on every line and attaches the original PDF or photo.
Customer balances and sales orders
Sellium finds the customer, reads their open AR invoices with the amount due and the due date, and builds the quote or sales order in Order Entry.
Reports and change alerts
Metrix reads data and reports with read-only access. When a payment is recorded or an invoice changes, the webhook fires and the agent updates what depends on it, so nobody has to check by hand.
How the integration works, step by step
Vantegrate handles the setup and rollout. Your team authorizes, validates and starts using it.
Web Services license and sender ID
Sage Intacct's APIs require a Web Services license, which comes with a sender ID and is available only to Sage Intacct customers and partners. Your admin enables the Web Services subscription and authorizes that sender ID for your company; if you don't have one yet, your account manager provides it.
Registered app and OAuth 2.0
We register the application in Sage's developer console with that sender ID, and your admin authorizes it for OAuth 2.0 in the company's security settings, tied to a Web Services user that can't sign in to the UI and holds only the role the use case needs.
Dimensions, rules and webhooks
We map accounts and dimensions with your controller, including the ones your company defined, load your business rules and set up the triggers that fire a webhook when an invoice changes or a payment is recorded.
Testing and phased rollout
We test in a Sage Intacct sandbox if your subscription includes one, or with real documents saved as drafts; we validate with finance and switch on one workflow at a time.
REST API, XML Web Services and webhooks: where the agent connects
Sage Intacct has two APIs, and both run on the Web Services license. The REST API uses JSON and OAuth 2.0, and it's where Sage ships what's new: Sage still supports the XML API, but new objects and features are released on REST (Sage). XML Web Services accepts only XML and authenticates with the sender ID plus company credentials (Sage).
Vantegrate's agent uses the REST API; if you already run integrations on XML, there's no need to migrate them. To hear about changes it uses outbound webhooks from Platform Services triggers: every notification carries an idempotency key and a JWT signature, and if the receiver doesn't respond, Sage retries up to four total attempts (Sage).
If your company runs multiple entities, each agent request can target a specific entity: the entity ID travels with the authorization or the request, and if it's omitted, the request runs at the top-level company (Sage).
| Surface | What the agent does | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| REST API | Reads customers, invoices and reports; creates bills and orders | JSON; new objects ship here |
| OAuth 2.0 client credentials | Authenticates the agent's connection | Tied to a Web Services user |
| XML Web Services | Integrations your company already runs | XML only; sender ID plus company credentials |
| Platform trigger webhooks | Learns about new records and changes | Up to four attempts; requires Platform Services |
| Event queue | Recovers notifications that didn't arrive | Messages are kept for up to seven days |
Surfaces documented by Sage; which ones your project uses depends on your subscriptions and your performance tier.
Your data stays in your company: the agent reads and writes in Sage Intacct through the API, with a Web Services user and a narrow role, without copying your database to another system. Every operation is logged and auditable.
Vendor bills coded to your dimensions: what Sage's agent does and what Arconte adds
In Sage Intacct every transaction can be tagged with dimension values (location, department, class, project, customer, vendor, item and the ones your company defines), and reports are built on those tags (Sage). A bill entered without its dimensions still balances in the general ledger, but it's missing from the report by project or by location.
Sage already offers an AP Automation agent that matches the bill to the vendor and the purchase order, codes account and dimensions and catches duplicates (Sage). It takes the bills you upload to the bills list or forward to the mailbox Sage provisions, it requires its own subscription, and whatever the vendor writes in the email body doesn't carry over to the draft (Sage).
Arconte adds what comes in through other channels: a photo of an invoice sent over WhatsApp, a document from a branch, a customer's purchase order that has to become a sales order. It checks against your data, enters the document with the original attached and its dimensions, and routes anything that doesn't reconcile to a person.
No double entry: if you already use AP Automation, during discovery we decide which documents each one takes, so the same bill never comes in both ways.
Sage Copilot, the Sage Intacct MCP server and where a Vantegrate agent fits
Sage Intacct builds AI into the product. Sage Copilot, its AI layer, connects finance teams with agents such as Close Automation and Finance Intelligence (Sage), which answers questions about any report or transaction, and another agent scans every journal entry as it posts to catch anomalies and duplicates (Sage). They work inside Sage Intacct, for the people who run finance.
Sage also publishes an MCP server in its AI Gateway for assistants such as Claude: it queries accounts payable and receivable, cash, general ledger, purchasing and order entry with read-only access, and it requires the Web Services license plus an add-on subscription (Sage). Sage's own guide recommends MCP for discovery and the REST API for deterministic integrations (Sage).
That's why Vantegrate's agent, which enters bills and orders besides reading, uses the REST API. And it works for the company and its customers: it answers over SMS, web chat or WhatsApp at any hour, and with Metrix your team asks about results or collections from Slack, Microsoft Teams or WhatsApp without logging in to the ERP. If you have Sage Intacct Data Cloud, which delivers your data into Snowflake, Metrix can query it there too (Sage).
Who does what: during discovery we define what Sage's AI handles and what the agent handles, so nothing is entered twice. Vantegrate doesn't replace those features: it brings your Sage Intacct to your customers' and your team's channels.

| Data source | A copy that drifts | Your source of truth, live |
| Where your data lives | In a third-party system | In your environment, encrypted end to end |
| Result of each operation | Stuck in another app | Written back to your Sage Intacct |
| Permissions and audit | Broad and hard to audit | Least-privilege scope and an audit trail |
| Reaching production | Often stalls as a pilot | Validated, phased rollout |

Explore SelliumThe integration doesn't take your financials anywhere
The principle is simple: AI comes to your data, not your data to the AI. The agent reads and writes in your Sage Intacct through the official API, using your company's Web Services license.
- Connection through the REST API with OAuth 2.0: the application is authorized in your company's security settings and tied to a Web Services user, and revoking one token revokes that user's other tokens too (Sage).
- The Web Services user can't sign in to the UI: it works only through the API, with the role your admin assigns (Sage).
- Webhooks arrive signed: before processing a notification, the receiver checks the signature and that the content wasn't altered in transit.
- The agents run on Salesforce or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, whose SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certifications belong to those platforms, not to Vantegrate; Sage Intacct's SOC 1 and SOC 2 reports belong to Sage.
Frequently asked questions about the Sage Intacct integration
What finance, collections and IT teams usually ask before connecting an AI agent to Sage Intacct.
How do I integrate Sage Intacct with an AI agent?
How do I integrate Sage Intacct with an AI agent?
Through a connection to the Sage Intacct REST API over OAuth 2.0. Your company provides the Web Services license (the sender ID) and authorizes it for its company; the application is tied to a Web Services user with a narrow role. From there the agent enters vendor bills, checks balances and orders, and hears about changes through webhooks. Vantegrate handles the setup and rollout; meet the document agent at Arconte.
Does the integration use my license's API transactions?
Does the integration use my license's API transactions?
It depends on how Sage classifies the connection. Sage gives each company a monthly allowance of API transactions based on its performance tier (the standard tier includes 100,000), and that allowance covers the company's own integrations: transactions from authorized Marketplace partners, ISV solutions (independent software vendors) and Sage's own applications don't count (Sage). Since the agent runs on your company's sender ID, it will most likely count toward your allowance: we confirm it with your Sage account manager during discovery. Past the allowance, Sage doesn't block calls: it bills the overage. That's why the agent relies on webhooks and batches its operations.
Does it work if I already use Sage Intacct's Salesforce integration?
Does it work if I already use Sage Intacct's Salesforce integration?
Yes, and the two should work side by side. Sage's Advanced CRM Integration syncs accounts and contacts, products and price books, contracts and their billing (Sage), and it can turn a won opportunity into a sales invoice (Sage). The agent doesn't duplicate that sync: it logs the conversation in Salesforce and lets the deal follow the path you already configured.
Does it work with Sage 50 or Sage X3?
Does it work with Sage 50 or Sage X3?
No: this integration is for Sage Intacct, Sage's cloud financial system for mid-sized companies. Sage describes Sage 50 as a desktop solution for smaller businesses (Sage), and Sage X3 is a different product this page doesn't cover. A project on either one is scoped separately.
Can the agent reach US customers on WhatsApp and SMS?
Can the agent reach US customers on WhatsApp and SMS?
Yes, with each channel used for what it does best. WhatsApp reaches 32% of US adults (Pew Research Center, 2025), so it works well for customers who already message you there. WhatsApp doesn't deliver marketing template messages to US phone numbers (Meta), so campaigns to US customers go by SMS, which the SMS integration covers. Either way, the balance comes from Sage Intacct and the conversation is logged in Salesforce.
