Yalo alternatives for consumer goods ordering:what the options are and when each one fits

If your company sells to traditional trade and you are evaluating Yalo, or already use it and want to compare, there are conversational platforms, commercial platforms for the channel and consumer goods CRMs that each solve part of the same problem. This guide describes them neutrally, by type of tool, and helps you choose based on how you sell.

The short answer

What should you look at when searching for a Yalo alternative?

Before comparing brands, pin down which part of the sale you want to digitize. If it is the conversation with thousands of stores on WhatsApp, the alternative is another AI sales agent or a conversational platform to build your own. If it is the field rep's work and store self-service, a commercial platform for the channel, with an app and a B2B portal. And if it is the whole sales operation, a CRM for consumer goods. In every case, the question that decides it is where the order ends up.

Yalo is an AI-agent sales platform headquartered in Mexico City, focused on emerging markets and on brands that sell to traditional trade. Its agents, such as Oris, work over WhatsApp, apps, web and voice: they take orders from small stores, understand voice messages, recommend products based on purchase history, apply promotions and follow up. The options below compete with different parts of that space.

This page compares what to sell to the channel with. How order taking works end to end is in WhatsApp order taking, and the industry picture is on the consumer goods page.

Each one was built for a different problem. This is a neutral read of what each one is and when it fits, without naming a winner. If you are looking for the broader picture of tools for taking orders on WhatsApp, not only in consumer goods, it is in the WhatsApp order-taking tools comparison.

Gupshup

Conversational platform with AI agents · high-volume brands across several channels

Conversational AI platform for marketing, commerce and support over WhatsApp, SMS, RCS, voice, web and apps. It offers a library of pre-built AI agents by industry, consumer goods included, and for that sector it describes stores and distributors placing orders, reporting low stock and confirming deliveries in the same conversation.

When it fits: brands that want one conversational platform for several use cases (campaigns, commerce and support) and have an in-house team or a partner to adapt the agents to their channel.

Blip

Conversational platform · brands operating in Brazil

Conversational intelligence platform founded in Belo Horizonte, Brazil (formerly Take Blip), with WhatsApp as its central channel. Its commerce offering combines AI agents that sell and guide the purchase with a catalog inside the conversation, designed for both B2B sales and consumers.

When it fits: companies with a strong operation in Brazil or in Portuguese that want to design sales and service journeys with AI agents and human teams on one platform.

Yom

Commercial platform for traditional trade · consumer goods in Latin America

Chilean platform for digitizing sales to traditional trade. It combines an app for the sales force that takes orders even offline and recommends products with AI, a self-service B2B portal for stores, and Yom GPT, a digital agent that handles orders and questions around the clock.

When it fits: consumer goods manufacturers and distributors that want to digitize the field rep, store self-service and remote service at the same time, with a single vendor.

Pepperi

Field sales app and B2B portal · manufacturers and distributors with reps on the road

B2B commerce platform with an order-taking app for the sales force: the rep shows the catalog, enters the order during the visit and keeps working offline. It adds a B2B portal where customers order on their own, retail execution and van sales, with integrations with ERPs such as SAP and NetSuite.

When it fits: manufacturers and distributors with field reps on the road that want to digitize the visit and van sales, and add a portal for the customers who order on their own.

Salesforce Consumer Goods Cloud

CRM for consumer goods · mid-sized and large companies

Salesforce's offering for consumer goods companies: retail execution with order capture during the visit, trade promotion planning and management, B2B Commerce so distributors and stores can order on their own, and Agentforce agents on top of the CRM data.

When it fits: mid-sized and large companies that want commercial planning, promotions and retail execution in one CRM, with an in-house team or a partner to run it.

Sellium (Vantegrate)

Turnkey AI sales agent · B2B with an ERP and Salesforce

B2B LATAM · ERP and Salesforce

Vantegrate's AI agent for WhatsApp sales, running on the official API. It takes the store's order however it arrives (text, voice note or photo of a list), applies its channel's price list and promotions, checks inventory in the ERP and enters the sales order, with the conversation logged in Salesforce. It is delivered configured and complements the field rep between visits.

When it fits: mid-sized and large manufacturers and distributors in Latin America that sell to traditional trade with channel price lists, inventory and customer accounts in an ERP, and want the agent inside Salesforce.

How to choose

Five questions before you choose

There is no best alternative in the abstract. Answer these questions with your team and take the answers to your demos, along with the AI sales agent checklist.

1

What you want to digitize

Opening a channel where the store orders on its own is not the same as giving the field rep a tool. If the order has to come in without a visit, look at AI agents or conversational platforms; if you want a better visit, a commercial platform for the channel. If you are torn between a portal and WhatsApp, the comparison is in B2B portal or WhatsApp.

2

Where the order ends up

Ask in every demo what happens when the store confirms. If the order stays in a chat or a dashboard, someone has to move it into the system; if it comes in as a sales order in your ERP, with the price list and promotions applied, retyping disappears. How the channel connects to the system is in WhatsApp connected to your ERP.

3

The size and reach of your network

Hundreds of thousands of stores across several countries are not served the same way as a few thousand in one region. Define how many points of sale you want to cover, in how many countries and through which channels (WhatsApp, app, web or voice), and ask for references from operations like yours.

4

What happens to the field rep

The agent does not have to replace them: it can take restocking between visits and after-hours orders, while the field rep handles negotiation and execution at the point of sale. Define who does what before choosing the tool.

5

Who will run it

A conversational platform is built and maintained in-house or with a partner; other solutions are delivered configured. Be honest about how many internal hours you can give it, or compare the self-service and managed models.

Where Sellium fits: not in every case. If Yalo already handles your sales to the channel, you do not need to switch. If your priority is digitizing the field rep's visit, a commercial platform for the channel will serve you better. Sellium makes sense when the store's WhatsApp order has to reach the ERP with its channel's price list and be logged in Salesforce, at mid-sized and large companies in Latin America that want the agent delivered configured.

Key figures

Three figures on traditional trade and rep-free ordering

Figures with a published source on the weight of the channel, how businesses prefer to buy and what holds AI back. None of them is a result of Sellium or of the platforms on this list.

37%

Of consumer goods sales in Latin America go, on average, through independent stores and self-service outlets in traditional trade

Source: NielsenIQ, via Revista Summa (2026)

61%

Of B2B buyers prefer, overall, a buying experience with no sales rep involved

Source: Gartner (2025)

95%

Of IT leaders say integration is an obstacle to implementing AI effectively

Source: MuleSoft, Connectivity Benchmark Report (2025)

Caveats: the NielsenIQ figure is a regional average by sales value and varies widely by country (it reaches 46% in Central America). The Gartner survey covered 632 B2B buyers, who still prefer to talk to a rep for decisions that need context. The MuleSoft figure comes from a survey of 1,050 IT leaders and measures integration in general, not ordering tools in particular.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about Yalo alternatives

What sales and IT teams at consumer goods companies ask when they compare agents and platforms for traditional trade.

What are the alternatives to Yalo?

It depends on which part of the sale you want to digitize. For an agent that takes orders on WhatsApp, Sellium; to build your own agents on a conversational platform, Gupshup or Blip; to digitize the field rep and open a B2B portal, Yom or Pepperi; and for the whole sales operation in a CRM, Salesforce Consumer Goods Cloud. The type of tool matters more than the brand.

What is the difference between Yalo and Sellium?

Both are AI agents that sell on WhatsApp, with different approaches. Yalo is a platform headquartered in Mexico City, focused on consumer goods brands in emerging markets, with agents that work over WhatsApp, apps, web and voice. Sellium is Vantegrate's agent for B2B companies in Latin America: it runs inside Salesforce, connects to the ERP for price lists, inventory and customer accounts, and is delivered configured. The best test is to see both with your own data.

Does an AI agent replace the field rep?

Not necessarily. The field rep is still key for the visit, the negotiation and execution at the point of sale; the agent takes restocking between visits and after-hours orders. Many companies combine an app for the visit with WhatsApp for everything that happens between one visit and the next.

Can WhatsApp order taking connect to SAP or another ERP?

Yes, but not every tool does it the same way: some leave the order in a chat or a dashboard and others create the sales order in the ERP. Sellium connects with SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, Tango and other ERPs, and logs every conversation in Salesforce; if your system does not expose an API, how to connect it is worked out during discovery. More detail in WhatsApp connected to your ERP.

Can I switch vendors without losing my WhatsApp number?

It depends on how the account is registered. If the number runs on the WhatsApp Business API and the account is in your company's name, the number is yours, and Meta lets you migrate it to another provider while keeping the display name, quality rating and messaging limit (Meta documentation). Two-step verification has to be turned off first, and whatever lives on the previous platform (flows, chat history and settings) does not move with the number: confirm with your vendor whose name the account is in and export what you need.

How much does Sellium cost for consumer goods ordering?

Sellium is priced with an initial implementation quoted per company and a monthly subscription with expandable AI credits, with no lock-in. You pay for WhatsApp messages directly to Meta, through your own account and with no margin from Vantegrate. The number depends on how many stores you serve and which systems need to be connected: request a quote.
