Car dealership CRM:what your DMS handles and what an AI agent on WhatsApp adds

Your DMS knows which units you have in stock and your CRM knows who reached out. What gets lost is in between: the Sunday night inquiry nobody answers. We do not sell a CRM or a DMS: Sellium works on top of the ones you already use and handles that inquiry on WhatsApp.

The short answer

What CRM does a car dealership need?

A dealership runs on two systems that have to talk to each other: the DMS (dealer management system), which handles vehicle inventory, service, parts and invoicing, and the CRM, which records every lead and what happened with it. The CRM can be the one the automaker requires, an industry-specific one or a general one like Salesforce or HubSpot. An AI agent replaces neither: it handles WhatsApp, checks the DMS and writes the conversation into the CRM.

That is why the useful question is not which CRM to buy, but what has to be connected so nobody enters the same thing twice. The map below lays out a dealership's systems and what the agent reads or writes in each one. If you want to compare AI agents with each other, that is in the comparison of AI agents for car dealerships.

The systems map

What each system does and where the agent fits

A midsize dealership runs four kinds of system side by side, and each one owns a different piece of data. The agent is only useful if it reads the right data in the right system: the unit in the DMS, the lead in the CRM, the time slot in the calendar and the inquiry in the listing where it started.

On WhatsApp, around the clock

The five moments the agent handles, and which system feeds each one

The full flow, with the Sunday night case, is in Sellium for Automotive. What matters here is which system feeds each step.

1

The actual unit, not the catalog one

Answers with the stock in the DMS and with photos and video of that exact unit.

Reads from the DMS

2

Quote with financing

Uses your active financing plans, prequalifies the buyer and takes the trade-in details.

Writes to the CRM

3

Test drive booked

Offers actual open slots on the sales rep's calendar and confirms them in the chat.

4

Service appointment

The customer books it on WhatsApp and gets a reminder before coming in.

5

The sales rep receives the case ready to work

Lead, quote and appointment are written in your CRM before the showroom opens.

CRM

No fine print

What Vantegrate does and does not do

What it does

  • Handles WhatsApp with data from your systems, day and night
  • Quotes with your financing plans and your prequalification rules
  • Writes every conversation into the CRM you already use
  • Hands off to a person when the case calls for it, with the full context

What it does not do

  • It does not sell a CRM or a DMS: it works on top of the ones you already use
  • It does not replace the sales rep in the negotiation or the close
  • It does not post listings or manage your listing sites
  • It does not touch repair orders, accounting or invoicing in the DMS

When it is not a good fit: if your stock lives in a standalone spreadsheet or you do not have a CRM yet, the agent has nowhere to read the unit from and nowhere to leave the lead. In that case it makes sense to get your systems in order first and add the agent afterward.

Published integrations

What it connects to, page by page

Each linked chip leads to its integration page. No DMS has a published page: that connection is reviewed through its API during discovery, before we quote.

Frequently asked questions

What car dealerships ask

To estimate how many inquiries you lose after hours, there is the WhatsApp lost sales calculator, and to organize each quote, the quote template.

Does Vantegrate sell a CRM for car dealerships?

No. Vantegrate sells AI agents that work on top of your systems. If you already use a CRM and a DMS, the agent reads the stock, writes the lead with its quote and books the appointment. If you do not have a CRM yet, it makes sense to choose one first and add the agent afterward.

Which DMS does the agent connect to?

Any DMS that exposes an API or a database it can query. There is no published integration page for any DMS, so the connection is reviewed during discovery, before we quote. The CRM is different: Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, HubSpot and Zoho CRM each have their own page, detailing what the agent reads and writes.

Does it work for a used-car dealer?

Yes, if the stock lives in a system it can query: the agent answers with the listed unit, its photos and its mileage. With a standalone spreadsheet it has nowhere to read the actual unit from, and then it makes sense to get the stock in order before adding the agent.

What about inquiries from Mercado Libre?

With the integration through the official Mercado Libre API, the agent answers questions on the listing with the data from your account and logs every prospect in your CRM. Inquiries that come from a Meta ad that opens WhatsApp are handled by the same agent.

How much does the agent cost?

Sellium is billed in two parts: an initial implementation quoted for each dealership and a monthly subscription with expandable AI credits, with no lock-in. WhatsApp messages are paid directly to Meta, from your own account, and do not use Salesforce messaging credits even if you have its WhatsApp channel. The details are on the pricing page.
