Integrate Pipedrive with AI agentsthat move every deal through your pipeline
Vantegrate's AI agents connect to your account through the Pipedrive REST API: they create and update deals, people and organizations, qualify the leads that come in on WhatsApp and move them forward through the stages of your funnel. Your data keeps living in your Pipedrive account.
How the data flows
What does it mean to integrate Pipedrive with Vantegrate's AI agents?
Integrating Pipedrive with Vantegrate's AI agents means that an agent, such as the sales agent that answers on WhatsApp, connects to your account through the Pipedrive REST API and works with your real pipeline: when a chat comes in, it creates the deal, qualifies it, moves it to the next stage and leaves a note. The connection uses OAuth 2.0 or an API token, limited to the permissions you authorize.
That's different from a chatbot with fixed scripts that lives outside your CRM. The agent checks the live data in your Pipedrive account at that moment (the deal's value, its stage, the latest activity) and decides what to do with each lead, so nothing goes cold in the funnel. Your deal and people data stays in your account: the agent reads and updates it, it doesn't take it anywhere.

What data moves between Vantegrate and your Pipedrive
The agent works on the standard objects of the Pipedrive API in real time: it reads your pipeline to answer, and it logs every deal, person and activity where it belongs.
Deals, people and organizations
The agent creates and updates deals, people and organizations, and moves each deal to the next stage of your pipeline as the conversation moves forward.
Notes and activities
Every chat leaves a note with its summary, and a request for a demo or a call becomes an activity assigned to the sales rep, so no lead goes cold in the funnel.
Real-time events
With Pipedrive webhooks, an event such as a deal that changes stage or is won triggers the agent's workflow without anyone entering it by hand.
How the integration works, step by step
Vantegrate handles the setup and the rollout. Your team authorizes, validates and starts using it.
Connection through the REST API
We connect to the Pipedrive API over OAuth 2.0, or with an API token for an internal integration. We use the v2 endpoints, which are more efficient in token usage. No scrapers and no fragile bridges.
Mapping your pipeline
We define which pipelines, stages and custom fields the agent uses to qualify leads, move deals and log every conversation as a note or an activity.
Webhooks and channels
We set up the webhooks that trigger the agent's workflows on every CRM event, and the WhatsApp channels the agent handles.
Validation with real data
We test with your real pipeline and your real chats, validate with your sales team and roll out in phases.
An agent on your CRM versus a chatbot with scripts
Not all WhatsApp automation is the same. A chatbot with fixed scripts follows a closed decision tree and lives outside the CRM: it doesn't understand a message with little context, it doesn't know what stage the deal is in, and it ends up escalating everything to a person. The AI agent works through the API of your Pipedrive, with live data from your account, and decides what to do with each conversation.
You see the difference on every lead: the agent understands what the customer wants, asks the qualification questions that are still missing, and only schedules an activity for a person when the lead meets the criteria. The rest of the time it creates the deal, moves it to the next stage and leaves the note, so your team spends its time on the deals that are worth it.
| Dimension | Chatbot with scripts | AI agent on Pipedrive |
|---|---|---|
| Where it runs | Outside the CRM | Connected to the API of your Pipedrive account |
| Connection | External bridge or widget | OAuth 2.0 or an API token against the REST API |
| Context | Fixed decision tree | Live data on the deal and its stage |
| Qualification | Rigid forms | Questions based on the conversation |
| Pipeline | Doesn't move anything | Creates the deal, moves it forward and schedules an activity |
Comparison of patterns; the exact scope is defined with your team based on your account and your pipelines.
Your data stays in your account: the agent reads and updates your Pipedrive through the API; it doesn't move your database anywhere else. The connection uses the permissions you authorize, and it's logged and auditable.
WhatsApp and MCP in Pipedrive: what a sales agent adds
Pipedrive has its own WhatsApp Business app, listed as free, to view and reply to chats from the CRM and link them to contacts and deals, according to its Marketplace. It also has an official MCP server, on every plan, that connects AI assistants such as ChatGPT or Claude to your account through OAuth, with each user's own permissions (Pipedrive).
Both tools serve your team: the app organizes the chats your sales reps answer, and MCP gives each rep an assistant that looks up and updates the CRM when asked. Vantegrate's agent works on the other side of the conversation: it answers the customer on WhatsApp at any hour, qualifies them, creates and moves the deal, and hands off to the sales rep when it's worth it, on top of your account's API.
How they work together: if you already use Pipedrive's WhatsApp app, during discovery we define which number or which conversations the agent handles and which ones your team handles, so the customer doesn't get two replies.

An agent connected to your Pipedrive vs. a standalone tool
| Standalone AI tool | Agent connected to your Pipedrive | |
|---|---|---|
| Data source | A copy that drifts | Your source of truth, live |
| Where your data lives | In a third-party system | In your environment, encrypted end to end |
| Result of each operation | Stuck in another app | Written back to your Pipedrive |
| Permissions and audit | Broad and hard to audit | Least-privilege scope and an audit trail |
| Reaching production | Often stalls as a pilot | Validated, phased rollout |

Which agents run on your Pipedrive
Every product in the suite uses the same integration through the REST API: it works with your account's data in real time and logs the result where it belongs.
The integration doesn't take your data anywhere
The principle is simple: AI comes to your data, not your data to the AI. The agent reads and updates your Pipedrive through the REST API, with the permissions you authorize, and the agents run on certified cloud infrastructure.
- Connection through the Pipedrive REST API with OAuth 2.0 (or an API token for internal use), with no scrapers and no fragile bridges.
- The agent reads and updates your pipeline and your deals; your lead database stays in your Pipedrive account.
- The agents run on Salesforce or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, whose SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certifications belong to those platforms, not to Vantegrate or Pipedrive.
- Access with least-privilege permissions and traceability of every operation.
Frequently asked questions about the Pipedrive integration
What sales teams usually ask before connecting an AI agent to their CRM.
How do I integrate Pipedrive with an AI agent?
How do I integrate Pipedrive with an AI agent?
Through a connection to the Pipedrive REST API. For a public app, OAuth 2.0 is the better fit (with scopes and a refresh token); for an internal integration, an API token is enough. The agent creates and updates deals, people and organizations, qualifies the leads that come in on WhatsApp and moves them through your pipeline. Vantegrate handles the setup and the rollout; your team authorizes the permissions, validates and starts using it. Learn about the sales agent in Sellium.
Does Pipedrive have webhooks to react in real time?
Does Pipedrive have webhooks to react in real time?
Yes. Pipedrive exposes webhooks (Webhooks v2, the more stable version) on objects such as deal, lead, person, organization, activity, note, product and stage. An event (a deal that changes stage or is won, a new lead) triggers the agent's workflow without anyone entering it by hand, always with the permissions your account authorizes.
Are there usage limits on the Pipedrive API?
Are there usage limits on the Pipedrive API?
Yes. According to its documentation, Pipedrive uses a daily token budget (30,000 base tokens times the plan multiplier and the number of seats) instead of a fixed cap on requests, plus burst limits in a 2-second window. Once the budget runs out, the API responds with a 429. The integration is designed to stay within that budget; we don't promise unlimited requests.
Does my deal data leave Pipedrive?
Does my deal data leave Pipedrive?
The agent reads and updates your account through the API; it doesn't copy your database anywhere else. Your deal and people data stays in your Pipedrive account, and access uses least-privilege permissions and is logged. The principle is that AI comes to your data, not your data to the AI.
