Trazzo for Oil and Gas:hazmat logistics with reconciled volumes
The truck leaves with two empty compartments, the station doesn't know what time it will arrive and at the end of the month everyone argues over how many liters were dropped. Trazzo plans the dispatch with the real capacity of each compartment, checks that the driver and the tanker are certified before loading and closes every delivery with the reconciled volume and the safety data sheet attached.
How do you plan hazmat fuel dispatch to a network of service stations?
Fuel dispatch is planned by connecting an AI routing engine to the confirmed orders in the ERP: the engine builds the route sheets accounting for each tanker's capacity by compartment and product compatibility, the approved hazmat routes in each jurisdiction (restricted tunnels, time-of-day restrictions, banned urban crossings), each destination's critical windows and the stock available at each terminal. Then it executes: an app for the driver, a dispatch notice and ETA on WhatsApp to the station, and a digital POD with a photo of the tank before and after, signature, volume delivered against volume nominated and the SDS attached.
In Oil and Gas this logistics doesn't allow the margin of error of ordinary delivery: gasoline loaded on top of diesel without a flush ruins the compartment and can end in a recall, a delivery to the wrong customer is a hazmat incident with a regulatory cost, and a tanker with an expired hydrostatic test stops the operation at the first roadside inspection. Trazzo, the last-mile agent in the Vantegrate Suite, puts those restrictions inside the planning model, instead of leaving them as a warning at the bottom of the route sheet.
The full picture of the sector (all five agents applied to integrated operators, refineries, midstream, traders and oilfield services) is on the Oil and Gas page.
The pain points of fuel and chemical dispatch
We gathered them in dozens of conversations with logistics managers, terminal managers and HSE managers across the sector's eight sub-verticals.
Five hours of routing by eye
The dispatcher builds the routes to 250 stations by hand, with gut feel and spreadsheets, and it takes hours every day. Trucks leave with empty compartments and the suboptimal route repeats because nobody has time to redo it.
The volume delivered is disputed every month
With no digital proof of the delivery, every month brings differences between what was nominated and what the customer acknowledges. The dispute is settled with memory and goodwill, never with evidence.
Flushes are logged in a notebook
Gasoline on top of diesel without a flush contaminates the compartment and can trigger a recall. And a delivery to the wrong customer isn't caught until the next day, with the regulatory and commercial cost already incurred.
Certifications expire without anyone noticing
Drivers' hazmat certifications and tankers' hydrostatic tests expire silently. The news arrives at a roadside inspection, with the fine already written up.
How Trazzo solves it in hazmat dispatch
The agent's capabilities, mapped to the sector's pain points: each one runs on your tankers, your terminals and each jurisdiction's regulations, not on a map with dots.
Routing by eye
Approved hazmat routes by jurisdiction
Plans in minutes while respecting approved routes, restricted tunnels and windows by jurisdiction, plus the fleet's fuel consumption. The restrictions that live in the dispatcher's head go into the model.
Compartments
Capacity by compartment and compatibility
Models each tanker with its 3 to 5 compartments, the capacity per product, the last product loaded and the flush date, and builds a truck with four different deliveries with no risk of cross-contamination.
Multi-terminal
Multi-depot with real stock by terminal
Dynamically assigns which terminal each delivery leaves from based on available stock (Dock Sud, Plaza Huincul, Bahía Blanca), so a one-off diesel stockout doesn't force you to redo the whole day's deliveries.
Windows
The windows that cost the most
A station out of diesel loses sales by the hour, and the industrial customer that starts up its plant at 6 needs the fuel at 5. Trazzo treats those windows as hard constraints and prioritizes critical replenishment.
Disputes
POD with nominated versus delivered volume
Photo of the tank before and after, the operator's signature, geolocation and the volume actually delivered against the volume nominated (29,987 L out of 30,000, within the agreed tolerance), with the SDS attached to the receipt.
Certifications
Driver and tanker certified before loading
Checks the driver's current hazmat certification (ADR, IMDG, DOT 49 CFR, TRC, RTAC depending on the country), the tanker's hydrostatic test and the digital waybill. No certification, no assignment.
A day of dispatch with 18 tankers and 250 stations
The full flow with the typical downstream operation: an operator that supplies its station network and its industrial customers from three terminals.
5:40 AM
Overnight orders come down from the ERP
Among them is Marcelo's: he closed out his register at 11 PM and ordered 30,000 liters of Grade 3 diesel on WhatsApp. Sellium entered it with the contract price and the credit account already validated; for Trazzo it's just one more delivery of the day.
5:55 AM
Routes go out with full compartments
The engine builds the runs for all 18 tankers by combining compatible products by compartment, each destination's windows and stock by terminal. What used to take hours of spreadsheets is ready before the first shift.
6:20 AM
One tanker is left out of the assignment
The unit that was going to cover the southern route has its hydrostatic test expiring this week. Trazzo excludes it and reassigns on its own: certification is checked before loading, not at the roadside inspection.
9:10 AM
The station knows what time the truck arrives
Marcelo gets the dispatch notice and ETA on WhatsApp, and replies that at 10 he has a delivery from another supplier. The stop is reordered on the route without anyone picking up the phone.
9:50 AM
The delivery closes with the reconciled volume
Photo of the tank before and after, the operator's signature, SDS attached and 29,987 liters delivered against 30,000 nominated, within tolerance. The difference is recorded on the spot, not in an end-of-month reconciliation.
5:40 PM
The return trip closes the reverse logistics loop
The same run picks up lubricant containers and hazardous waste, with a digital transport manifest, and takes them to the treatment site. The return trip no longer runs empty and regulatory traceability is closed.
The dispatcher went from five hours of spreadsheets to supervising exceptions, every tanker left with its certifications in order and no delivery ended in an argument over liters. The logistics that used to be defended with delivery notes and memory is now planned, certified and verified, with the same fleet as always.

Public industry benchmarks, not our own results: every Trazzo implementation is measured against a baseline agreed with the customer (on-time delivery to stations, capacity used per tanker, disputes over delivered volume, planning time).
Secure AI agents that work with your data
Trazzo handles hazmat routes, driver certifications and delivery receipts: operational and safety data no CISO hands over lightly. That's why it runs 100% on Salesforce and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, with those platforms' SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certifications and the permissions you define. We don't claim anyone else's certifications: Vantegrate enables, the customer operates and certifies.
Frequently asked questions about Trazzo for Oil and Gas
Does Trazzo handle a tanker's capacity by compartment?
Does Trazzo handle a tanker's capacity by compartment?
Yes, natively, and that's the difference from a generic route planner. Trazzo models each tanker with its compartments, the capacity of each one, the last product loaded and the date of the last flush, and plans a truck with four deliveries of different products while validating compatibility and loading sequence. That model is what keeps gasoline from going out on top of diesel without a flush and what stops trucks from leaving half full.
How do you end disputes over the volume delivered?
How do you end disputes over the volume delivered?
With evidence captured on the spot: a photo of the tank before and after, the operator's signature, geolocation, timestamp and the volume delivered against the volume nominated, with the SDS attached to the receipt. The difference is recorded when it happens and with whom it happens, so the end-of-month reconciliation stops being an argument without data.
Does it check the driver's and the tanker's hazmat certifications?
Does it check the driver's and the tanker's hazmat certifications?
Yes: before assigning a route it checks the driver's current hazmat certification (ADR, IMDG, DOT 49 CFR, TRC or RTAC depending on the country), the tanker's hydrostatic test and the digital waybill with the product's SDS. If something is about to expire, the unit is left out of the assignment instead of turning up at a roadside inspection. Indexing certificates, permits and safety data sheets is the job of Arconte, the suite's document agent.
Does it cover reverse logistics for containers and hazardous waste?
Does it cover reverse logistics for containers and hazardous waste?
Yes. Container returns, product returns and moving hazardous waste to the treatment site are planned as part of the same route, with a digital transport manifest and full regulatory traceability. It's the stretch that usually falls outside routing and that, with no record, leaves the operation without backup in an environmental audit.
